The NaSHA Learning Hub is a collection of practical tools designed to support riders, shooters, and leaders at every level of the sport. This page is where we put the work in. Each week we release a new shooting horse drill designed to help you ride with more clarity, more purpose, and better results in the pattern. These aren’t random exercises, they're built to develop the foundation that actually matters: direction, timing, and communication between you and your horse
If something is falling apart in your run, chances are it shows up in one of these drills first.
Every drill ties back to the same four fundamentals:
Cadence - Setting and maintaining a consistent rhythm, no matter what’s happening around you. Confidence - Committing to your line and giving your horse clear direction. Collection - Keeping your horse balanced and organized through turns and transitions. Control - Placing your horse exactly where you want them, every step of the way.
If those four things are in place, the rest of the pattern gets a lot easier.
