Resource Center

The NaSHA Resource Library is a collection of practical tools designed to support riders, shooters, and leaders at every level of the sport.

All of these resources are provided free of charge.

We believe education should be accessible to anyone who wants to learn, improve, and participate in the shooting horse discipline. By making these tools available, we aim to support individual growth, strengthen horsemanship, and contribute to the long-term success of the sport as a whole.

These materials offer guidance for training, communication, and tracking progress—always with the horse’s readiness at the center.

PLEASE NOTE: These downloads represent the free foundational, publicly available Shooting Horse resources. Instructors seeking deeper teaching guidance, readiness decision tools, and integrated program support can purchase the Professional Instructor Toolkit.

Rider Progression is rider-focused and outlines the long-term path of development within the shooting horse discipline.

It helps riders understand where they’re headed over time, but it is not evaluated or assigned.

(Free with $35 Membership)

Lesson Levels are horse-focused and used during lessons and ongoing training to track a horse’s readiness.

They are evaluated over time using the Four C’s and indicate when a horse is prepared to begin competing.
