National Shooting Horse Association

At the National Shooting Horse Association (NaSHA), everything we do begins and ends with one simple truth:
We are here for the horse.

The shooting horse discipline is built on speed, precision, and partnership — but at the heart of every great run stands an incredible equine athlete. The NaSHA Board of Directors is made up of lifelong horsemen and women united by a shared passion for the sport and a commitment to doing things the right way — with family, integrity, and horsemanship at the core. To serve on the NaSHA Board of Directors, members must be active competitors in the shooting horse discipline — ensuring every decision is guided by real experience in the arena.

Our mission is to grow the sport, give back to the community, and honor the horses that make it all possible. Through education, recognition, and accurate performance tracking, NaSHA works to preserve the legacy of every horse and celebrate the people who dedicate their lives to this discipline.

NaSHA is not a sanctioning body and does not host or govern competitions. Instead, we work alongside existing organizations to help ensure that horse, rider, and breeder earnings and achievements are properly tracked and recognized across associations — so every equine athlete receives the credit they’ve earned.

Through NaSHA Shooting Horse Schools, we provide educational and training opportunities designed to improve rider skill, increase confidence, and prepare horses for competition environments in a supportive, family-centered setting. These programs emphasize sportsmanship, safety, and growth for both horse and rider.

Whether you’re a competitor tracking performance, a breeder evaluating bloodlines, or a fan cheering from the sidelines, NaSHA is here to provide the data, education, and connection that help move the sport forward.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the buckle or the earnings— it’s about the horse who carried you there.

We are the National Shooting Horse Association (NaSHA)
Here for the horse. Always.
